How madeinNZ began
madeinNZ was founded in March 2020, just before Covid-19 took hold of the globe and changed the world as we know it. The mission was set there and then - to increase the likelihood of success for NZ businesses, and it has remained the same ever since.
madeinNZ was set up by a web developer who did all the initial marketing and development, but was not able to spend the time needed to grow the platform. He passed this on to another owner in early 2021 with experience and skills in digital marketing, who did a lot of background SEO work which has greatly increased the organic traffic to the site.
In turn, this new owner soon had too many roles to juggle with other 2 jobs and decided to pass madeinNZ onto a new owner who could take the company to the next level and allow it to realise its true potential.
Enter Caleb Smith, the current Managing Director and Chief Growth Officer of madeinNZ. He is an enthusiastic and ambitious young man with big plans for the company's future. The first thing that brought him to madeinNZ was his passion for supporting local and buying NZ made, and when the opportunity arose to take over the business he jumped at the chance!
